Georgians For Children -- 2002 Children's Agenda Ballot

The links below will take you to a ballot form that will be used to determine the 2002 Georgia Children's Agenda. The content of this year's ballot reflects the results of ten focus groups held around the state - Albany, Dalton, Waycross, Augusta, Savannah, Gainesville, Rome, Columbus, Macon and Atlanta. At the conclusion of these, the top three issues in each of the four categories voted upon by each focus group were identified. In order to give you a clear choice among agenda items, Georgians combined similar items identified at multiple focus groups. The four categories are children's health, education, safety and family security.

In order to develop a statewide consensus, we need you to review the collective work from the ten forums and to vote your opinion as to which of all the issues presented are most important and should be included on the final 2002 Georgia Children's Agenda. Please cast your votes for only two issues in each category, and return the ballot to Georgians For Children no later than FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2001. A copy of last year's agenda is available here.

Everyone who is interested in the well being of Georgia's Children should vote. Even if you were not able to attend a focus group this year, please participate in the process by voting on this ballot. Also, please share this ballot with anyone you know who may be interested in participating. For additional information or background on any of these issues, please feel free to contact Ellen Williams or me at 404-843-0017. The official ballot will also be posted on our web site at www.georgians.com.

Once the 2002 Georgia Children's Agenda has been determined by your votes, Georgians will solicit lead organizations and endorsers to promote that agenda. Lead organizations will be responsible for leading advocacy efforts on a particular issue. Endorsers will be listed on the printed 2002 Georgia Children's Agenda to demonstrate the broad base of statewide support for the agenda. Please contact Georgians for Children should you wish to serve as a lead organization or to endorse the Agenda.

Please be sure to mark your calendar now for Children's Agenda Day on March 7, 2002 at the Georgia Freight Depot near the Capitol. On behalf of all of Georgia's children, Georgians For Children expresses its appreciation to all of you who made this year's series of focus groups a success.
