The One Child, One Lawyer Project offers attorneys a unique opportunity to participate in meaningful pro bono advocacy on behalf of abused and neglected children. The Project's mission is to ensure that every abused child is afforded adequate representation by a trained and committeed attorney speaking on behalf of the child and advocating for the child's needs.

Volunteers are appointed as attorneys ad litem to represent a child throughout the entirety of his or her case in the Juvenile Courts of Fulton or DeKalb Counties. In this role, participating attorneys will be essential to achieving a stable, loving and permanent placement for a child. The life of One Child can be impacted tremendously by One Lawyer.

To participate, volunteers must attend a multidisciplinary training on issues of legal representation of children. Ongoing technical support including case consultation and continuing education seminars will be available. Volunteers are expected to commit to the project fo rthe entirety of the case to which they are assigned, from time of appointment through the final disposition of the case.
